What Can I Do to Help?
ContributingVolunteers provide support to staff and student in many different ways. This support is provided both at home and at school. Staff members appreciate each volunteer's contribution of time and energy.
Classrooms
You can contribute to the classroom setting by:
- Listening to students read
- Selecting books from the library
- Walking around the classroom encouraging students
- Helping students make costumes
- Helping students set up projects
- Drawing and labeling
- Making phone calls to organize upcoming events

- Sharing professional skills
- Sharing real world understanding
- Providing small group or individual learning support
- Tutoring a child
- Leading a book discussion group
- Putting up a bulletin board
- Helping with computer software and maintenance

Home
To help at home, you may:
- Type the classroom newsletter.
- Compile book orders for class

- Bind class stories into books
- Collect materials for a project
|
Office / Clerical
In addition to helping in the classroom and at home, you may choose to assist by:
- Working on bulletin boards
- Making classroom or hallway bulletins
- Participating in bake sales or other fund raisers
- Participating in social activities
- Taking pictures of classroom activities for scrapbooks / bulletin boards
- Helping collect, package, and count money after fund raisers
- Submitting orders for the school
